Preventive Care for Your Pets
Routine wellness exams, flea, tick, and parasite prevention, and vaccinations are all important in maintaining your pet’s overall health. Wellness exams can bring minor concerns to light before they become more serious issues. To determine if any issues may be present, your veterinarian will examine your pet’s heart, eyes, lungs, mouth, ears, take record of its vitals, and collect a fecal sample to screen for any intestinal parasites. We recommend heartworm testing and flea and tick prevention. Before any vaccinations can be administered, your vet will perform a wellness exam to make sure your pet is healthy enough to receive them.
Recommended Vaccinations for Dogs

Rabies: Given at 16 weeks of age, then given once annually.

DHPP and DHLPP (Canine Distemper/Canine Parvovirus/Leptospirosis): Given as early as 6-8 weeks of age. After the first shot, boosters will be given according to the individual needs of each patient. One booster will be given annually thereafter. The third booster round and every annual booster thereafter may also contain the Leptospirosis vaccine

Bordetella (Kennel Cough): Given as early as 6-8 weeks of age, then given every 6 months.
Recommended Vaccinations for Cats

Rabies: Given as early as 16 weeks of age, then given once annually.

FVRCP (Feline Distemper Rhinotraeceitis Calicivirus Panleukopenia): Given as early as 6-8 weeks of age. After the first shot, boosters will be given according to the individual needs of each patient. One booster will be given annually thereafter.

FeLV (Feline Leukemia): Given as early as 12 weeks of age. After the first shot, 2 more boosters will be given every 3-4 weeks per shot, then given annually.
